Band 5 Staff Nurses Short Stay Unit (SSU) Ward 34 LRI

We are looking for dynamic enthusiastic band 5 nurses on Ward 34 Short Stay Unit (SSU) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI).

Our aim is to provide a caring and compassionate team environment where nurses can develop skills and abilities. We also offer opportunities to gain experience across the entire emergency floor. We can offer various rotations tailored to individual needs, allowing recruits to experience all aspects of emergency care.

Excellent communication skills, team work and a motivation to work in a short stay environment are essential for the role.

The emphasis on the ward is to provide a quality short stay experience for patients. A keen interest in caring for the acutely unwell both medically and psychologically is essential.

The SSU is part of the new emergency floor at the LRI. The area is a fast paced medical environment where a wealth of experience can be gained.The area receives short stay patients from The Acute Assessment Units and the Emergency Department at the LRI. The majority of patients have a length of stay of 24 hours with maximum of 72 hours.

Our aim is to provide a caring compassionate environment for all our patients and families by involving them in all aspects of their care. As a team we are continuously working towards delivering high quality care and safe timely discharges.We would like provide future nursing staff with a wealth of opportunity to develop a wide range of emergency assessment and acute nursing skills.
