An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager at the University Hospitals Leicester, within the Microbiology Department. We are one of the largest NHS healthcare providers in England providing a range of local, regional and national services.

The Clinical Microbiology Service provides a comprehensive range of clinical and diagnostic services across the three acute sites. A full range of Bacteriology and Virology specialised and routine laboratory services are provided by the centralised laboratory at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site.

Applicants will have substantial operational management experience in a complex health care setting with an impressive track record of improvements in performance. Achievements will include a significant contribution to strategic planning and large scale strategic change.

You will be an inspiring and credible operational leader with the energy, drive and determination to successfully respond to the changing expectations and needs of the trust and the NHS at a regional and national level.

To succeed you will need to demonstrate highly developed leadership skills and the ability to create high performing teams. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, which enables you to empower and lead others to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care
