Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.

Part-Time: 0.8 WTE (30 Hours per week)

Leicestershire Adult Eating Disorders Service is based at Bennion Centre, Glenfield Hospital Site. We provide comprehensive inpatient; day-patient and outpatient care for the local population. We also provide specialist inpatient care for the East Midlands region.

We offer a range of group and individual therapies across the spectrum of eating disorders using NICE recommended and other evidence based treatments for our patients. We offer training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM). We have a strong research and service evaluation structure, which provides opportunities for wider learning and development. We have links with the CBT Team as well as with the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Service which also strengthens our training and clinical opportunities.

Being based on the same site as the inpatient and day-patient services enables continuity of care for our patients and staff. We are able to work closely with the wider teams to facilitate and support therapeutic groups and other activities, which broadens the experience of our clinicians.

We are very excited to be offering a part-time post for an Eating Disorders Specialist Therapist in the Outpatient Team. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking clinician to strengthen our existing CBT structure and to further develop evidence based therapies in the eating disorders service. The primary role is to offer assessments and individual therapy, however applicants who also have CBT group experience would be preferred.

Candidates with experience of using or developing Guided Self Help or CBT group therapy for binge eating disorder would be welcome. Clinicians with little or no experience of working with eating disorders are encouraged to apply and will be supported with appropriate training and supervision.

We are committed to providing the best care that we can to our patients, and so some of our roles involve a Maths and English assessment. Where this is so, details will be shared with you as part of the recruitment process.

Details of our benefits, pledge and other important information about the application process, and working for us is contained in the documents linked to our advert.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

To make the most of your application, we may consider successful applicants for vacancies for the same post in different locations where this is appropriate and meets our mutual requirements.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.

We aim to develop a workforce that reflects our service users. To this end we actively implement equal opportunities in employment and service delivery and seek people who share our commitment. We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from underrepresented groups, including members of our black and minority ethnic communities. All jobs will require permission to work in the UK.

For all jobs the cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure at the required level will be met by the individual. This will be deducted from salary following commencement.

Requests from applicants to work alternative hours to those advertised may be considered.

Applicants who are currently ‘at risk’ within the local NHS, and meeting essential criteria will be given preference for interview over any other candidates who may apply for this post.
