Commercial Procurement Specialist

Who Our Opportunity is for:

    • An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Procurement Services Team. You will report to the Commercial Procurement Manager and form part of a team which is responsible for developing and putting in place National Framework Agreements that can be used across the NHS and Public Sector as a whole. The role also includes providing external Procurement and Supply Chain Management services to client organisations both within the Health Services and wider public and private sectors.
    • You will be running EU compliant tender processes
    • The role requires experience in public sector procurement and application of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
    • In addition you will need to have the following skills:
        • Negotiation skills;

        • Be able to act autonomously;
        • Understanding of the current health economy;
    • The candidate is required to have a knowledge of procurement principles acquired through either, MCIPS accreditation or actively working towards it (minimum level of 5 must have been achieved,) relevant degrees or experience

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.

If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS application is £31 (standard) or £49 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
