Purchasing Systems and Performance Analyst

Band 5 , Whitefriars/NBT, Full time 37.5 hpw


Bristol & Weston NHS Purchasing Consortium provides strategic sourcing services to 3 acute trusts and 2 Community Health providers. With a spend profile of circa £500m, the consortium is being realigned to drive maximum benefit for its sponsor trusts.

The Consortium is embarking on a Transformation Programme to raise the profile of Procurement and increase its saving performance.

The opportunity exists for a highly motivated & driven individual within the role of Purchasing Systems and Performance Analyst to support the Procurement Transformation Process.

You will be a motivated individual who has the drive, ability and enthusiasm to work within a dynamic, strategically challenging and rewarding environment aligned to the modernisation of purchasing and supply in the NHS.

A range of systems are in place to support requisitioning, order processing, interfacing, catalogue management, sourcing, contract management, spend analysis, website maintenance and other aspects of strategic purchasing and supply chain processes.

The role requires an understanding of consortium procurement, the challenges faced by multi-customer requirements, combined with exceptional IT & communication skills.

You must be educated to minimum GCSE ‘O’ level/ONC standard and studying or prepared to study relevant professional qualifications. Expert use of Excel & Visual Basic is an essential requirement of the role. This needs to be coupled with a good working knowledge of Word & PowerPoint. A proven ability to extract & data mine large volumes of information, drawing out relevant key performance indicators will be essential for the successful candidate. As will excellent inter-personal skills, good time-management, use of own initiative and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
