Croydon Neurology Team

Are you an experienced Neurology Nurse, with a genuine interest in either MS or PD?

We are looking for two experienced registered nurses with proven experience of acute and or long term care of neurological conditions to work as an integral member of our very enthusiastic multidisciplinary Croydon Neurology Team; you must have a specialist interest in either MS and or PD.

As a specialist nurse you will provide day to day clinical expertise working in both hospital and community settings along agreed clinical pathways within this integrated Trust. Working closely with the four neurology consultants and other neurology nurses as well as the Community Multi-Disciplinary Team and liaising with other services and directorates to ensure maximum effectiveness, quality, patient experience and ensuring sensitivity to patient’s needs and ethnic requirements.

You will be expected to ensure that the patient receives the highest possible standard of evidence based care with an aim to reduce hospital admissions and reduce length of stay in hospital. The nurse specialist would be based predominantly in the at Croydon University Hospital providing inpatient and outpatient care thus enabling an integrated seamless service.

You will need to be an adept and confident, with proven experience of working in this field and area of specialist interest with the ability to meet the clinical, educational and emotional needs of patients and their carer’s as well as demonstrating good interpersonal skills to enable effective teamwork as well as taking part in service evaluation audit and research. Previous experience as a neurology nurse specialist is an advantage.
