Student Health Visitor

Sponsorship for: Band 5 (point 4) Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting) Students.

One years sponsorship for training to become a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting).

Children and Families Health Surrey is looking for qualified nurses who would like to train as a Health Visitor.

This is a one year, full time course run in conjunction with Surrey University. The successful applicants will spend 50% of their time in practice and 50% at the University, in order to complete both practice and theoretical elements to the course. The course runs from September 2020 until September 2021.

In order to complete the course, applicants must be able to meet the academic requirements of Surrey University and must be available for the whole year.

We have an excellent preceptorship model to support newly qualified colleagues and offer all our health visitors an extensive programme of development. As a health visitor you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and practice through supervision and our health visiting forum. Our excellent appraisal system will help you to continue your professional development in a way that works for you and for the service.

Students will normally hold a previously accumulated credit volume of 360 FHEQ Level 4-6 credits, of which at least 120 will be at FHEQ Level 6, and be named on Part One or Part Two of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Register (NMC 2006a).

Applicants must have current NMC registration, and hold a valid U.K. driving license.

You should also meet home student requirements (minimum 3 years residency in the UK) to be eligible for sponsorship.

Recruitment - Golden Hello

Successful applicants, who have not worked for CSH within the last 12 months, will receive an amount of £2000 paid in two instalments: - £1000 upon commencement and a further £1000 following successful completion of probation. These payments are pro-rata for part- time posts. Payments will be subject to tax and NI National Insurance in the usual way.We don’t operate Golden Hellos for Band 7 or Band 8 posts, Bank posts or fixed term contracts.
