The Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network (PCN) in West Dorset is delighted to offer an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our dedicated team, supporting three highly regarded practices. This position is available on a full or part-time basis, providing flexibility to fit your lifestyle while meeting the high demand for services in this area.
Situated in one of the UK's most beautiful locations, our PCN is committed to delivering patient-centred care to a diverse and complex population, with a particular focus on frailty and the needs of the elderly. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the electronic Frailty Index (eFI) to identify, assess, and manage frail patients, ensuring tailored interventions that improve quality of life. This is an ideal role for a GP within two years of their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), ready to develop expertise in managing complex cases and providing proactive, compassionate care to those who need it most.

Main duties of the job
s a newly qualified GP at Jurassic Coast PCN, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, focusing on frail and elderly patients across three practices in West Dorset. Clinical responsibilities include managing consultations, conducting telephone and home visits, and triaging patients via eConsult, telephone, or in person, with particular attention to those identified through the electronic Frailty Index (eFI). You will diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, process test results, and promote proactive health and well-being interventions to improve the quality of life for this vulnerable group. With structured mentoring and a supportive environment, you will develop your clinical decision-making skills and confidence in managing complex cases.
In addition, you will contribute to the smooth running of the enhanced health in care homes team, community frailty team, and practices, engaging in clinical governance activities such as audits and significant event reviews. You will also support administrative tasks, collaborate in practice meetings, and work within legal frameworks to safeguard vulnerable patients.
