We are seeking a dedicated Weight Management Coach (Adults & Pregnant Women Specialist) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses exclusively on providing weight management support for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and into the postpartum period and adults. This service targets adults aged 16 years and above and offers nutritional guidance and physical activity interventions to support weight loss, weight maintenance, and overall health improvement.

You will also play a crucial role in promoting healthier lifestyles, ensuring pregnant women and new mothers receive tailored guidance on healthy weight management, nutrition, and physical activity during and after pregnancy.

The service aims to support women in maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy, providing postpartum weight loss advice, and offering nutrition and weaning guidance for early years. You will work closely with midwives, health visitors, breastfeeding providers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver a seamless, comprehensive support system.

This role will need to have the ability to travel independently within the Liverpool area so you will need to be able to drive and own a car as the role involves work in various community settings.

You will also be required to travel to the Wirral office from time to time for training and team meetings.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver Tier 2 Weight Management Services to pregnant women, focusing on healthy weight maintenance during pregnancy and safe, sustainable postpartum weight loss.
  • Provide personalised nutritional advice and support, ensuring women receive appropriate guidance on healthy eating, physical activity, and lifestyle changes during pregnancy.
  • Promote healthy weight management in line with NICE guidelines, including advice on weaning and early childhood nutrition.
  • Utilise a person-centred approach, considering the emotional, physical, and psychological needs of pregnant women, and providing referrals to additional support services when needed.
  • Deliver Tier 2 Weight Management Services for adults, focusing on weight loss, weight maintenance, and prevention of weight regain through nutritional and physical activity interventions.
  • Work with clients to develop personalised action plans, setting achievable goals and providing ongoing support to help them progress towards a healthier lifestyle.

You will utilise a person-centred approach that prioritises emotional wellbeing, helping clients understand the relationship between emotions and food, develop self-help strategies, and make long-term behavioural changes.
