Main duties of the job
As a Graduate Mental Health Worker you'll assist in the assessment of care needs & formulation, implementation & evaluation of programmes of care for individuals. You'll deliver relevant forms of psychosocial & psychologically informed care under agreed levels of supervision. You'll assist in identifying strategies to support mental wellbeing & promotion of self-care & social inclusion. You'll communicate and work collaboratively with Mental Health team colleagues & prison teams to meet the needs of patients. You'll support the delivery of timely access to integrated, high quality, service user-centred services that enable people with mental health needs, &/or substance use issues to improve their well-being and functionality, thereby preventing, reducing or delaying the need for more specialist services. As part of the integrated team, under the supervision of qualified mental health practitioners, you'll work to ensure that the needs of service users are addressed by offering appropriate interventions in both one to one & group settings. This will include promoting wellbeing, independence and choice whilst preventing, reducing or delaying the greater onset of need. You'll be expected to adhere to relevant policy and procedure. You will liaise with other professionals and agencies both statutory & non-statutory to provide holistic care & treatment. The co-facilitation of group work will be an expectation of the role. Being a compassionate individual is essential.
