Join our Medical Equipment Library (MEL) team and play a vital role in keeping our hospital running safely and smoothly.
As a Medical Equipment Library Assistant, youll be at the heart of clinical care making sure essential medical devices are clean, safe, available and ready for patient use across the hospital. Youll work closely with our Clinical Engineering team, nursing staff and ward teams, contributing directly to patient safety and experience.
This post is 2 days a week covering Monday and Friday
Main duties of the job
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Safely clean and decontaminate a wide range of medical devices
- Carry out basic fault checks and escalate issues to the Clinical Engineering team
- Prepare, track and distribute equipment across the hospital based on clinical demand
- Ensure all accessories and consumables are correctly paired with devices
- Keep accurate records on the MEL database, including patient and equipment data
- Offer advice and guidance to wards when requests cant be met
