Job summary
We are currently seeking a Quality Officer to join our QA Quality Assurance team within the Quality Directorate. The role of the Quality Officer is to provide independent advice, guidance and support in the use of our quality systems. The Quality Officer will also assist in monitoring our quality system on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all licensing and accreditation activities are undertaken as they should be.
The Quality Officer will support the delivery of essential training to staff and monitor quality system performance across the organisation.
Within QATA, this post has a specific focus on capacity and demand management for the team. You will be the primary point of contact for demand requests from across NHSBT, managing demand through ServiceNow, triaging requests against a risk-based framework, and coordinating team capacity on a priority basis. Experience in a regulated digital or technology quality environment is particularly welcome.
This post reports to the National Quality Manager Technology Assurance and is part of a nationally based team. The role requires some on site activities but also has the flexibility for working remotely.
Main duties of the job
- You will assist the National Quality Assurance Manager in the smooth running of the QATA team, including team briefings, training, planning and prioritising workload of the team
- You will be responsible for assisting in the licensing and accreditation activities by liaison with all departments, providing advice and training in the NHSBT quality management systems
- You will assist in the management of an incident reporting system, and a complaint handling system, by engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. Within QATA, this includes first-line triage of technology quality incidents received through the shared mailbox and coordination of their assignment and resolution
- You will be a key contact within the Quality Assurance team offering support and advice on routine day to day activities and future direction and change within a project environment
- You will help to drive forward change within the organisation through participation in continual improvement activities and conducting a programme of internal audits.
- To support activities, some travel throughout the UK and spending some time away from base, which may involve working irregular hours and occasional overnight stays, may be required, this will be with prior notice.
