Job summary
Working with the department lead, you'll make sure the department runs smoothly and effectively while acting as a key channel of communication between the senior managers and other colleagues within your directorate. By helping them make our wider strategies a success, you'll also be playing your part in helping thousands of patients live better, fuller lives.
You'll be managing diaries, organising and documenting meetings, processing sensitive information and producing reports for meetings. Building strong working relationships with other departments and organisations will be crucial to your success. You'll have a proactive style, excellent communication skills and focused on looking for opportunities to reduce or improve administration.
Main duties of the job
In this very important role, you will support the Department and Team to ensure the Department/Directorate functions efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing comprehensive direct office management and administrative support to the manager.
Providing a comprehensive administrative service, acting as a central source of communication between the Manager and Senior Managers in the Department/Directorate and other Directorates and with agencies/contacts external to the organisation.
Ensuring the smooth running of the Managers office and the timely prioritisation of all administrative duties including diary management.
Acting as a communication channel between the manager, department/team, other departments and external agencies.
Covering or deputising for other admin staff on occasions, as and when appropriate.
