Job summary

This role will be fundamental to the delivery and running of a high quality and effective Lung Cancer service which will identify asymptomatic people, providing early diagnosis of both lung cancer and other lung diseases.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver nurse-led clinics (virtual and face-to-face), assessing patients and referring high-risk individuals for Low-Dose CT scans
  • Undertake respiratory assessments, provide smoking cessation advice, and promote overall lung health
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, red flag symptoms, and medical emergencies
  • Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, supporting the wider screening pathway
  • Contribute to clinical administration and maintain required accreditations (IRMER/ARTP as applicable)

Part-time | 24 hours per week | 12-hour shifts (8am8pm) Mobile role | South West (Fareham, Portsmouth, Swindon)

We are seeking a dedicated Lung Cancer Screening Nurse to join our mobile team, delivering a high-quality screening service that supports early detection of lung cancer and other respiratory conditions.

This role is key to identifying asymptomatic patients at risk, enabling timely diagnosis and access to life-saving treatment. You will work flexibly across a 7-day service, including weekends and bank holidays.

The Role
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics (virtual and face-to-face), assessing patients and referring high-risk individuals for Low-Dose CT scans
  • Undertake respiratory assessments, provide smoking cessation advice, and promote overall lung health
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, red flag symptoms, and medical emergencies

About You
  • First-level Registered Nurse with at least 2 years Band 5 respiratory experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage patients effectively
  • Confident using IT systems and managing digital patient records
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and further specialist training
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to work flexibly across locations
