Main duties of the job

To provide personnel support to the Therapy Lead in the appointment of all Occupational Therapy staff; demonstrating leadership when managing specific clinical projects. To be an advocate of the service and promote & support the vision of the service.

  • You will be responsible for personal, professional and legal responsibility for your own highly specialist caseload of residents whilst ensuring you are accurately interpreting specialist communication, seeking support when needed
  • You will provide support to the Therapy team ensuring that you demonstrate leadership when managing specific clinical projects.
  • You will be liaising with relatives and carers with empathy, giving information, support and advice when required.
  • You will devise and review the Speech and Language Therapist related individual therapy programmes for implementation by the Therapy Assistants.
  • You will provide training, education and support for other Therapy Assistants and Unit based staff.
  • You will maintain up to date, concise clinical records and provide reports as necessary for each resident's case review.

  • A qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration. Working to the equivalent of a band 6.

Experience

  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Previous experience working within a neuro environment
  • Commitment to make a real difference to the lives of our patients.
  • Have excellent communications skills, a great attitude to teamwork and a desire to lead on patient care.
  • Flexible to work shifts.
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
