Job summary
The postholder will deliver and develop a specialist service for a group of patients with a defined set of conditions involving technical interventions and the provision of advice within a multi-disciplinary framework.
This will involve developing and maintaining a high clinical profile and presence and acting as role model for other nursing staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a dedicated team carrying out statutory duties within a home treatment team, using key skills to effectively carry out comprehensive mental health and risk assessments. Being able to appropriately support service users as to manage risk and meet identified needs. Incorporating carers and significant others in the individuals care.
To provide a resource of specialised mental health intervention, face to face to people who require support through a crisis, providing a multi-disciplinary approach that best suits the clinical need of the service user.
To offer increased and additional input as an alternative to an in-patient admission.
To provide professional day to day leadership to the multi-disciplinary team and associated staff within the specific area of service. This is an autonomous and authoritative role, involving multidisciplinary and multiagency working. It requires specialist knowledge evidenced by the relevant post graduate study, with high levels of professional wisdom, confidence, and maturity
