Dive into a premier specialist role where your clinical autonomy, leadership, and vision will directly shape our hospitals aquatic pathways. We are seeking an ambitious, forward-thinking Senior 1 Physiotherapist to take full clinical and operational ownership of our dynamic Hydrotherapy Service.
Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will drive innovation, spearhead evidence-based practice, and elevate patient care across the hospital.In this high-impact role, you will independently manage a diverse and highly complex caseload spanning advanced musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopaedic, and rheumatological conditions.
You will move beyond standard treatments, designing bespoke, high-level aquatic interventions, and making critical triage decisions that optimise patient flow.As our operational anchor, you will champion safety governance, risk management, and strict compliance with water quality and infection control standards.
Beyond clinical excellence, you will inspire the next generation of therapists by providing formal mentorship, clinical supervision, and appraisals to junior staff and assistants.
An active membership with the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP) is highly preferred. If you are a passionate clinician ready to blend elite patient care with service leadership, we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job
To work as an advanced AHP assessing, formulating, diagnosing and treating a complex clinical caseload
as an autonomous physiotherapy practitioner.
To provide specialist information and advice to clients, their families and their Healthcare Professionals in
relation to water-based rehabilitation and its up to date and evidenced based management.
To facilitate and provide learning opportunities and education to HCS professionals and the wider
community on Aquatic Therapy in order to improve knowledge & understanding about the scope of
conditions, which may benefit, as well as reduce the burden of functional disability on our community.
To undertake audit activity and service evaluation within own area to support the Physiotherapy operational
manager with strategy and policy development regarding Aquatic Therapy supporting the integration of
research evidence into Aquatic therapy clinical practice.
To manage and supervise a team of physiotherapists and specialist assistants in order to deliver a high
quality service.
To operationally manage a unique and challenging physical healthcare environment and resource to
provide rehabilitation opportunities to a diverse caseload.
