Job summary

About the Federated Data Platform:

NHS England's Data and Analytics Directorate is driving the transformation to put patients in control of their data, support clinicians, decision-makers, and researchers with real-time, high-quality data, and empower the NHS Data Community to leverage their skills for high-value opportunities. We pride ourselves on our dedication, creativity, and values-driven approach to improving decision-making across health and care, helping people live healthier, longer lives.

The NHS relies on data every day to manage patient care and plan services, but it is often stored in systems that don't communicate with each other, creating burdens for both patients and staff. The Federated Data Platform connects these systems, allowing each Trust and Integrated Care Board to manage their own customised version, enhancing data integration and care coordination.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid role - This role involves travelling within your region to visit NHS clients, along with occasional trips to Waterloo, London, for team collaboration days. When you're not on the road, you'll have the flexibility to work from home.
  • Permanent position - 37.5 hours per week.
  • Band 8c afc salary ( £74,290 to £85,601 pa ), dependent on your level of experience and the number of years you have worked within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful implementation of the Federated Data Platform across NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Boards.
  • Collaborate with Trust stakeholders, overseeing key engagement meetings and building strong relationships to ensure smooth adoption.
  • Support the Regional Delivery Manager in managing regional delivery plans and meeting strategic healthcare objectives.
  • Oversee the technical onboarding, data validation, and service handover processes for Trusts, ensuring they are aligned with clinical safety and operational needs.
  • Provide leadership to Delivery Managers, fostering a high-performing team culture and mentoring others across your region.
  • Monitor project progress and milestones using tools such as Jira, Trello, and Confluence, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring that trust teams are adequately trained and supported for the effective adoption of new systems.
  • Initiating reviews and implementing best practices for ongoing process improvements and efficiencies.
