Main duties of the job

To provide general medical services for our registered patients, including diagnosis, treatment, prescribing and referrals

Work in line with practice policies and procedures

Provide face-to-face, telephone and e-consultations as required

Maintaining high standards required by CQC

About us

You would be working as part of the bigger supportive practice team that consists of GP's, Pharmacist, Physio, MH worker, Social Prescribers and our admin/reception team.

We currently have 11,550 patient's and work from a purpose-built modern GP practice located in Blaydon town centre.

We are part of a PCN team and work closely with 3 other practices.

Job responsibilities

We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic GP to join our friendly team. We are a GMS practice with10GPs, 3 nurses and 3 healthcare assistants that cares for 11,550 patients. We are looking for someone to join us for 5 sessions per week (full day Monday and Thursday, half day Tuesday) on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027.

  • Purpose built surgery premises in central Blaydon with on site doctors parking
  • Good work life balance (eg administration/pharmacist first policy for letters and medicines management)
  • Emphasis on team working. Planned break within morning surgery to allow staff to meet, chat and debrief
  • Flexible session times
  • In-house clinical pharmacist support available daily
  • Part of the Gateshead Inner West PCN
  • Expanding PCN workforce to support clinical workload including physiotherapy, pharmacist and social prescribing network
  • Dedicated care home ward rounds with named GP
  • Weekly practice meetings and educational events
  • We are a training practice for GP registrars, medical and nursing students
  • Excellent QOF results
  • On call duties shared on a pro-rata basis
  • Low home visiting rate and local urgent care team available for patient support
  • Out of hours services provided by Gatdoc
  • Salary dependent on experience
