Position: Head of Financial Reporting and Business Partnering, NWJCC
Following the establishment of the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) on 1st April 2024 and a recent organisational restructure, we are seeking a Head of Financial Reporting and Business Partnering, Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) to support our journey as a newly formed organisation.
The NWJCC is a joint committee of the seven health boards in Wales, with a Chair and Lay Members. We support collaborative commissioning across Wales, with around 120 staff based in Mold and Nantgarw/Treforest.
Our mission to be The Centre of Excellence for Collaborative Commissioning, improving health and care outcomes across Wales. We commission around 220 services, from NHS 111 and ambulance services to specialised rare disease services, and mental health, operating a £1.14bn budget.

Main duties of the job
The Head of Financial Reporting and Business Partnering is a key senior leadership role within the NWJCC and will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of all issues relating to Financial Reporting and the Business Partner team.
The post holder will manage a team of Finance and Value staff and is responsible for the development and delivery of the organisations Financial reporting, ensuring alignment with the strategic intent of the organisation and integration with all work programmes.
In particular, the post holder will be accountable for the delivery of national and local financial performance targets including the development of action plans to rectify areas of non-compliance ensuring that the organisations strategic objectives are delivered.
The post holder will be responsible for negotiating and managing the delivery of complex SLAs, proactively identifying financial variations to ensure spend is in line with budget and used in a way which maximises organisational objectives and will lead on relative efficiency and benchmarking exercises to ensure value for money.

- Evidence of continued professional development
- Thorough knowledge of financial reporting products

- Working knowledge of demand and capacity modelling
- In depth professional and specialist knowledge of Financial reporting, healthcare information and performance management.
- Professional knowledge of staff management.
