Job summary
The Nutrition and Dietetics department is seeking to appoint an experienced, well-motivated, enthusiastic and independently minded individual with a "can do" leadership style into this fixed term post until 31 March 26.
On behalf of the Public Health Dietetic Professional Manager, the post holder is responsible for the day-to-day operational issues within designated areas of responsibility to ensure the department delivers on its key targets and priorities in a safe, sustainable and effective environment. Initially the focus will be PIPYN and Pre-diabetes and there will be opportunities to work across the portfolio.
The post holder will provide timely, efficient and effective operational management support to the Professional Manager to ensure that services are responsive and provided to the highest clinical and performance standards.
They will provide project and managerial support encompassing a broad range of activities across the department. They will support the clinicians in overseeing the management of Health Care Support Workers and operational support staff.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of operational plans and manage performance by proactively leading and providing solutions to resolve operational issues or escalating where necessary.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will require;
- Excellent leadership and operational management skills, supporting staff directly
- Excellent communication skills, forming close working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Require excellent analytical skills to understand complex data, and the effects of implementing different options in different scenarios.
- Ability to lead a team and foster effective team working across services and organisations.
- Provide and present complex data and the effects of implementing different options in different scenarios.
- Provide and present complex, and sometimes contentious information to Senior Managers and Clinicians in a way that is sensitive and understandable.
- On occasion, deal directly with patients/carers on matters of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
- Excellent project management skills to support successful roll-out
