Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Cardiologist to join the forward-thinking Cardiology Team at Prince Philip Hospital at a time when the Health Board is continuing its focus on driving forward its pioneering Cardiology Pathway Transformation Programme across West Wales.
As a member of a network of Cardiologists across the Health Board, this role will support the Cardiology services at Prince Philip hospital predominantly but may require some travel to and support of any of the other 3 acute sites. This appointment will complement the existing 11 substantive Cardiology Consultants in providing a high-quality Cardiology service to the population of Mid & West Wales.
This role will provide opportunities to develop a specialist interest to compliment the other Cardiology Consultants. Dependant on your sub-speciality area of interest, diagnostic and procedural sessions will be available either on-site or at another Health Board acute site including DSE, TOE, pacing, angiography, CT Coronary Angiography, Myocardial Perfusion Scanning and complex device follow-up.

This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate cardiology services. Modification of the job plan is flexible to suit you and content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Responsible for the care of cardiology inpatients
- Provision of cardiology speciality support to wider General Medical service
- Provision of cardiology support to hospital front-door and Same Day Emergency Care departments
- Delivery of cardiology sub-specialty diagnostics and/or interventional services
- Delivery of secondary care cardiology as a part of face to face and virtual outpatient care
- Providing proactive clinical leadership to the broader cardiology multi-disciplinary team
- Engaging with the Health Board's wider Cardiology Pathway Transformation Programme developments and innovations
