Job summary
The sub-specialist training within Gynaecological Oncology has been a successful programme here in Cardiff for a number of years. An opportunity exists for a trainee in Gynaecological Oncology based in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and Velindre. This is a formal training programme for two-three years which will lead to accreditation by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Applicants would be expected to be in ST6-7 in general O&G training. Evidence of IT skills is essential and the possession of a further degree would be anticipated. This sub-specialty does not lead to the award of a CCT. Applicants need to be holders of a NTN/VNTN in Obstetrics & Gynaecology if they wish to gain a CCT. The Wales Deanery is committed to ensuring that all posts in Wales comply with both the New Deal and Working Time Directive. It has been a contractual requirement that posts comply with the New Deal since August 2003. It is essential that doctors assume that their posts are within the New Deal already or are in the process of being made compliant with the New Deal. Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and committed doctor for the above post. The post holder will work within the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology both in University hospital of Wales and University hospital Llandough.
