Job summary
As technical adviser at NICE, you'll be joining the senior leadership of the publishing team at an exciting time as we explore new technology to support our guidance and advice content to make it more useful and usable for our audiences. You will use your technical understanding of publishing software and systems to provide support for users of the current NICE Publications and InDev systems and lead planning for the migration of our guidance and advice content to any new content management system/s. You will coordinate, manage and oversee our guidance publishing activities and lead a team providing the support functions (technical and project management) for the publishing team.
Main duties of the job
- Lead on coordinating, managing and overseeing our guidance publishing activities, providing oversight and governance of publishing team's use of NICE Publications system and the associated guidance publication process.
- Lead a team providing the support functions (technical and project management), ensuring appropriate and consistent quality control and workload management processes are in place for the publishing team and its broad and complex portfolio.
- Operational business owner for current publication systems (InDev and NICE Publications) plus any future systems to support the authoring, management, publishing and maintenance of our guidance and related content.Represent the needs of the publishing team in the procurement of a new CCMS (and supporting systems).
- Lead on migration planning for our guidance and advice content to a new CCMS (and supporting systems).
- Lead on training for the team for any new systems and new ways of working.
- Lead on making changes to our publishing systems to support improvements to our guidance and advice website pages, building relationships with relevant teams across NICE.
- Lead on meeting accessibility regulations and following NICE policy for all our guidance and advice products published on the NICE website. Lead the prioritising and updating of non-compliant content.

The Publishing team has a key role in creating our guidance content and is responsible for managing, publishing and maintaining NICE's guidance and advice web pages. We put users at the centre of everything we do, so that our guidance content is accessible, understandable, consistent, and meets our users' needs. We work closely with teams across NICE at all stages of guidance development. Our team of 29 includes guidance content designers, content advisers and digital publishers who have lots of varied experience in producing high-quality and user-friendly content.
