Job summary
As Principal Occupational Therapist, you will lead and influence professional OT practice across Adult Social Care at RBWM and Optalis. Youll work closely with the Deputy Director, Principal Social Worker, and Head of Quality and Safeguarding to shape professional standards, support reflective practice, and ensure statutory responsibilities are met with integrity and compassion.
Youll provide strategic oversight, clinical leadership, and operational supervision to Senior OTs, while driving service improvement and integration across two organisations.
Youll play a key role in embedding RBWMs strategic priorities: buildinginclusive, healthy communities, deliveringhigh-quality, compassionate services, and promotingprevention, choice, and community connection.
Main duties of the job
- A qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC
- Significant experience in managing OT services within health and/or social care
- Strong leadership, supervision and service development skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Ability to work across organisational boundaries and influence strategic direction

- Relevant professional Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Registered with the relevant professional body HCPC.
- Relevant management qualification i.e. Certificate or Diploma in
- Management or significant demonstrable experience and/or a commitment to attain a management qualification.
- Evidence of continued professional development and training.
- Working knowledge of Information Governance, Data Protection and understanding of the role of a Caldicott Guardian.

- Experience of effective management and supervision of a professional staff group, budget and performance within a health and/or social care setting.
- Experience of working effectively across organisational boundaries, managing interagency partnerships and demonstrating knowledge of relevant social care, health, private, independent and voluntary sector issues.
