We have two large teams providing the supervision and support to all approved
foster carers across the whole of the county.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a county
fostering service committed to developing excellent practice in line with the
Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards. You will need to be
committed to developing excellent outcomes for children through creating
productive working relationships with a wide range of services to support our
fostering families. Within this role you will be responsible for the
supervision and day to day support of a team of Fostering Social Workers and
Fostering Support Worker who support North Yorkshire foster carers. This is
implemented through monitoring and maintaining the Fostering Regulations and
National Minimum Standards.
We are looking for an experienced social worker who
is ready to take the next step in their professional career or someone who is
currently a Practice Supervisor wanting to join our team who has substantial
case management experience, who are able to supervise on a day-to-day basis
with effective social work practice to a busy team.
We fully recognise the need to support our staff to
develop and enhance their skills and experience. We want you to make a
difference by sharing expertise, providing leadership and direction to social
workers. You will be responsible for maintaining local links with your
colleagues in safeguarding, looked after childrens teams and wider social care
teams to support care planning.
