Rotational Occupational Therapist

Job summary

We have an opportunity for a B5 Occupational Therapist to join our Hull and East Riding Community Services rotation.

We currently have roles in various locations within Community Rehab and Intermediate Care, which includes both our bedded units and community based roles ; preventing admissions, facilitating discharges and providing longer term rehabilitation .The locations are across Hull and the East Riding.

If the successful candidate is interested in experiencing a rotation in Mental Health, it may also be possible to arrange a rotation across to our Humber Foundation Trust colleagues.

You would receive supervision from senior clinicians, will be well supported within your team, and will be able to access B5 peer support from other Occupational Therapists, as well as networking with other therapists at our Professional Development group.

We are very flexible in our approach to working patterns, so long as our services are covered. Some of the rotational posts will include working on weekends and public holidays.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will offer a high standard of evidence-based Occupational Therapy, working as part of the Hull and East Riding Community Rehabilitation Service. To be responsible for own autonomous practice and ensure effective patient/client care is maintained.

Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience as a Practice Educator of pre-registration students
  • Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning

Knowledge & Experience

  • A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments and their use
  • Basic IT skills
  • Willingness to undertake and complete preceptorship
  • Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in community and adult physical health clinical practice areas
  • Understanding of caseload management and responsibilities
