Job summary
The Lead Pharmacist Oncology is accountable for providing expert pharmaceutical care and operational leadership within the Oncology service at Cleveland Clinic London (CCL). This senior post plays a pivotal role in developing, managing, and transforming the Oncology pharmacy service, aligning with Cleveland Clinics strategic priorities.
Main duties of the job
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the postholder will lead service innovation, workforce development, performance management, and contribute to hospital-wide medicines governance. This includes driving continuous quality improvement, leading programs, managing budgets, and shaping the future of oncology pharmacy services. The Lead Pharmacist will act as the deputy to the Clinical Services Manager and represent CCL in internal and external strategic forums.
This role includes supporting the Clinical Services Manager to develop and implement strategic and business plans for the clinical roles in the Oncology Institute. It will also coordinate high level clinical tasks, operations, training and education, and acting as a liaison between caregivers and management. This post holder will lead and promote the implementation and expansion of Oncology services.

Lead operational planning and delivery for
oncology pharmacy, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centred care across

including the aseptics team.

Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators
(KPIs), ensuring data-driven improvements and reporting outcomes at senior

planning process, developing strategies for cost containment, service
efficiencies, and income generation

development and delivery of a business plan for pharmacy aimed at developing
the service, (including risk management strategies) which details future

skill mix reviews ensuring staff resources are used optimally and staffing
levels and capabilities are always maintained at safe levels.

To be responsible for ensuring that pharmacy
Oncology related incidents and risk are investigated, and remedial measures /
mitigations are implemented and communicated / promoted to all staff.

To be responsible for ensuring all clinical
pharmacy service health and safety risks are reduced to a minimum and where
high-risk situations remain insufficiently mitigated, they are placed on the
Risk Register and action plans developed and implemented.

Assist the Clinical Pharmacy Manager in
providing the pharmacy response to formal complaints liaising with other
departments and the complaints officer as necessary.

Ensure that statements are taken according to
CCL Policy and time deadlines are met.
