Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide strong clinical leadership and deliver high-quality, patient centred care to adults recovering from elective and complex orthopaedic and spinal procedures. They will support the Ward Manager with the effective day to day running of the ward, ensuring safe staffing, clinical oversight, and adherence to professional standards. The role requires expert knowledge in post-operative orthopaedic and spinal care, including pain management, wound care, early mobilisation, patient education, and the management of clinical risks. The post holder will act as a role model, support junior staff through supervision and teaching, and contribute to service improvement within a busy surgical environment.

About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Sister or Charge Nurse to join our Orthopaedic and Spinal Ward. This role provides clinical leadership within a busy surgical environment and supports the Ward Manager with the day to day running of the ward.
