We have an exciting opportunity for part time Non-Medical Prescriber to join our Primary Care / Mental Health team at HMP Kirkham, a category D Prison located in Kirkham, Preston.
We are looking for a Non-Medical Prescriber who has also has experience prescribing in Substance Misuse, you will ideally hold RGCP1 and 2 or willing to work towards. The prison has it s own Healthcare Department where you will be based and the team consists of a team of 10, working with Primary Care Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and GP's HMP Kirkham is a capacity of 700 males.- Onsite parking

Hours:
The role full time 18.75 hours per there are various shifts covering:- Monday - Friday - Flexible in days
- 18.75 hours per week
- 9am - 5pm
Salary:
This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary between £51,643 - £58,012, depending on experience which will be pro rota

Main duties of the job
As a Non Medical Prescriber your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Undertakes Clinical Nursing Practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care to patients
- Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
- Provide treatment as required, including prescribing medication, within their sphere of competence.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients looked after.
- Provide advice/support in relation to crisis situations, conditions, and treatment plans, based on medical and treatment history.
- Carry out a clinical review with the patient and update care plans accordingly

Qualifications required:
- Current active registration NMC Adult / Mental Health or HCPC
- Non-medical prescribing qualification
- RGCP1 and RGCP2 rained or willing to work towards.
- Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including , Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework
- Understanding of evidence based practice
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
