We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Moorland, a men's category C Prison and young offender institution located in South Yorkshire.

Hours

37.5 hours a week working 3 shifts 07:30-17:30 and 1 shift 07:30-17:00. Will include 1 weekend incorporated in shift pattern.

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £49174 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
• Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
• Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
• Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
• Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing
• Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• If you are an NMP this would be advantageous  
• Must have experience of working within substance misuse 
•  Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
•  RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
•  Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
•  Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
