Theatre Scheduler

As a Private Patient Healthcare coordinator you will contribute to the smooth running of administrative processes at our Plymouth hospital.
The role is to ensure patients receive a seamless experience by dealing with enquiries and tasks efficiently and thoroughly. Providing a high quality administrative and secretarial service for the unit to ensure an efficient service
Purpose of the Role
To work as a member of the administration team to provide management of internal and external waiting lists. Schedule theatre activity for multiple Consultants, ensuring all patients are dealt with in a professional and courteous manner.
Additional appointment booking will be required in certain circumstances and the ability to prioritise, organise and manage patient expectations is crucial.
Maximising capacity, minimising cancellations resulting in empty theatre slots is paramount to this role. So the ideal candidate would have Foresight, understanding the business needs and with a positive approach
Main duties of the job
Who we're looking for
Someone with recent and relevant experience, who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work under pressure.
Just as important though is your flexibility, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload
- Experience in an Administration environment
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- The ability to practice and maintain a high standard of confidentiality at all times and exercise absolute discretion in the use of all patient information.
- A professional and friendly front whilst being responsive and empathetic towards patients
- The ability to build excellent working relationships with the Consultants, Heads of Department and key stakeholders.
- Waiting List and Patient Theatre List experience would be preferable
