Job summary
The post holder will be the Deputy to the Radiology I.T. and Data Manager and as such be able to cover that post in the absence of the I.T. and Data Manager. The post holder will be required to liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff within the trust. It is also essential that the post holder is able to represent the Trust effectively in dealings with PACS, and radiology equipment manufacturers, other trusts, NHS departments, and Radiology Outsourcing Suppliers. This involves contact directly and through KFM Service Agreements with staff at many levels both technical and managerial. The I.T. and Data Deputy Manager will be required to contribute to a variety of clinical and I.T. teams. The post holder will be an integral member of the KFM Radiology I.T. Management Team, and will maintain and implement Radiology information and image capture systems in the department and throughout the Trust and wider Health Community. They will be responsible for monitoring the systems and ensuring that the system is available to users in conjunction with the service providers, and that there is efficient usage of the systems. The post holder will be part of the ongoing PACS implementations/upgrades, with responsibility for ongoing support in accordance with documented procedures, provision and co-ordination of training, and the planning of any related future developments. The post holder is expected to attend all Kings College NHS Foundation Trust sites dependent on BAU requirements.
Main duties of the job
Contribute to the implementation of new functionality relating to PACS system. Assess risks or benefits associated with such developments and participate in Trust Project meetings relating to them. Provide feedback regarding complex and contentious information to departmental community regarding progress as appropriate. Undertake daily housekeeping tasks on these systems to ensure data integrity systems security. Monitor interfaces between Radiology systems and Trust wide EPIC system according to established SLAs. Implement and maintain Radiology systems. Post holder would be expected to Project Manage minor system upgrades and new implementations. Provide first line support for clinical and non-clinical users of the Radiology systems. Participate in the Weekend and Public Holiday On Call Rota. This activity is remunerated by KFM. Monitor system performance and Image quality issues. Develop and deliver training programmes for new, existing, and Key trainer staff. This comprises both new and refresher training. Monitor data quality issues and provide policies and procedures for system use. Perform system upgrades as appropriate. Keep up to date with technical advances in Radiology as part of continuing education and development.
