With the support of a Consultant Psychiatrist and Lead Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide clinical assessment. You will support the consultant in the assessment of patients referred to the service and will be expected to complete regular mental state reviews, as well as monitoring for side effects of medication. As an Associate Specialist, you will ensure the high quality first-line medical care of our inpatients, liaise effectively with external professionals and carers, provide written and oral evidence for Hospital Managers and Tribunal hearings, work towards safe discharges, and be a valued and effective member of the multidisciplinary team at Dunnock View. Main duties of the job
Join Dunnock View as an Associate Specialist, providing treatment to men and women with mental health needs. You'll collaborate with a Consultant Psychiatrist, completing clinical assessments and monitoring for medication side effects. This role involves ensuring high-quality first-line care, effective liaison with professionals and carers, and providing evidence for hearings. Participation in Clinical Governance activities, conducting audits, and teaching are key responsibilities. Prospective cover for doctors on leave and liaising on physical healthcare are also required. This position demands full GMC registration, experience in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams, and at least 3 years' experience in the field.
