Job summary

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Skills and Simulation Facilitator to join our Learning & Experience team. The successful candidate will facilitate and coordinate our Basic Life Support (BLS) and Immediate Life Support (ILS) programmes through the Resus Council alongside other clinical skills and simulation training.

to lead on developing and training clinical skills across the hospitals work force.

This an excellent position for someone who is passionate about training in a healthcare setting with the opportunity to design and deliver simulation training across the hospital.

This is a full time role predominantly working Monday - Friday. However there will be the occasional need to work weekends and bank holidays following the requirements of the hospital and training schedule.

Main duties of the job

  • Facilitate and deliver annual clinical training plans across ILS, BLS, Venepuncture, manual handling and IV and cannulation training
  • Establish key relationships across the clinical teams, working with SMEs to review content.
  • Schedule and communicate training plans, using our learning management system.
  • Provide specialist and excellent clinical knowledge, ensuring all staff and services are legally compliant.
  • Work reactively with the OD team on any clinical training requirements that arise.

Continuously develop training methodologies for a multidisciplinary audience, ensuring effective learning plans, competency statements and assessment tools to maintain competency and compliance with national guidelines

Responsible as the lead of training topics: resus, blood transfusion, sepsis, IV, POCT and ensuring external developments are bought back into policy and training programmes & procedures

Establish key relationships across the clinical teams, working with SMEs to review content and ensure understanding of changes to practise and requirements of competency assessments

Schedule and communicate training plans, using our learning management system and liaising with employees and their respective managers to maintain compliance

Provide specialist and excellent clinical knowledge, ensuring all staff and services are legally compliant and adhering to all regulatory CQC requirements and clinical standards within training.

Work reactively with the OD team on any clinical training requirements that arise

Responsible policy holder for all clinical training policies and Standard Operating Procedures

Manage POCT across the hospital providing medical device testing and appropriate training

  • Qualified Resus Council Instructor
  • Allied Healthcare professional or Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Life Support Practitioner
  • Experience within clinical training setting
  • Willingness to undertake further training in support of clinical skills (manual handling)

Desirable

  • Level 3 in education & training or equivalent (PTTLS)
  • Qualified Resus Council course Director
  • Simulation Experience
