Fire Safety Adviser

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen to join the Resilience team at Central London Community Health NHS Trust.We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated fire safety professional to join our Resilience team as a Fire Safety Advisor. You will play a key role in delivering fire safety support across the Trust, including training, inspections, and carrying out Fire Risk Assessments. Working closely with the Head of Fire, Health & Safety and Security, you will help ensure our compliance with the Fire Safety Order 2005 and NHS HTM guidance.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone educated to degree level or equivalent experience with a recognised fire safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent).

With at least 2 years' experience in a fire safety advisory/support role, the role will be responsible for:

  • Delivering statutory and role-specific fire safety training, including Fire Marshal and local drills.
  • Carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and maintaining accurate action plans.
  • Conducting inspections and audits to monitor compliance with Trust policy and HTM guidance.
  • Supporting fire incident investigations to ensure lessons learned are shared.
  • Providing practical fire safety advice to staff and managers across the Trust.

The role will sit within the Resilience Division who provide centralised support to the Trust for a range of services.

  • Diploma in Health Emergency Planning (or working towards), Trained Loggist & Minute taker

Desirable

  • Project management qualification, e.g. PRINCE 2

  • Experience of working in a healthcare organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of planning complex areas of work
  • Experience of managing projects
