Speech and Language therapy Technician - Band 4 - South Westminster Centre for Health

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Assistive Communication Service, as part of Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language therapy Technician.

The Assistive Communication Service (ACS) has been identified by NHS England as one of the specialised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) service for London. We deliver specialist AAC assessments, prescription, initial training and set up of equipment.

The ACS team accepts referrals for children and adults in the following boroughs:Hammersmith and Fulham,Kensington and Chelsea,Westminster,Barnet,Camden,Islington,Haringey,Hackney, Tower Hamlets, City andEnfield.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the programming and updating of communication software on the communication devices. This will include the service and maintenance of the communication devices, as well as conducting software / equipment review clinics with clients. The post holder will also have to monitor stock levels of devices, accessories, and consumables, and order replacements as necessary

The post has an excellent line management structure. It is supported by the Principal SLT for AAC and multidisciplinary team at the Assistive Communication Service.
