The Rehabilitation Engineer Service is based within our Trust's Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division of BCHC . We supply Rehabilitation Engineering resource to Wheelchair Services within the West Midlands

The Senior Rehabilitation Engineer will be primarily based at Worcester Wheelchair Service Crown Lane, Wychbold, WR9 0BX. They could be expected to provide Rehabilitation Engineer activity within Herefordshire Wheelchair Services

Main duties of the job

The Senior Rehabilitation Engineer will have significant experience in the subject field together with line management of Band 6 Rehabilitation Engineers / Trainees. They will:-

Undertake assessment of postural and mobility needs for service users of wheelchair services

Create innovative and safe solutions to meet the assessed clinical needs of wheelchair users. These solutions will take into account relevant legislation and follow our ISO13485:2016 QMS

Line manage Rehabilitation Engineers, trainees and support staff

As part of of a Rehabilitation Engineering Team of over 25 staff you will participate in an active CPD and Clinical Supervision programme.

  • BSc / BEng in Mechanical / Rehabilitation Engineering. Engineering / Science or equivalent e.g. IEng / IIPEM (or equivalent)
  • Masters equivalent needed (or equivalent)
  • Registered with RCT / AHCS (Practitioner) or HCPC (Clinical Scientist)

Experience
