North Herts Integrated Community Team are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our friendly, supportive and Gold Accredited Team. You will be working alongside our therapy and nursing teams to assist with therapeutic treatment programmes and ensuring that our patients receive high quality rehabilitation and support in their own homes.

As a Technical Instructor, you will work alongside our diverse team comprised of nurses, paramedics, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and health care assistants. We work to provide evidence based therapy care to patients in their own homes. Our service operates 8am - 6pm 365 days a year.We offer flexible working patterns and are happy to consider full or part time applicants.

Main duties of the job

You will be managing your own caseload with support from qualified therapists. This includes falls prevention, mobility assessments and rehabilitation following a range of physical health issues, provision of basic equipment and walking aids. We also provide urgent and rapid therapy support for patients who are at high risk of being admitted to hospital and enabling them to remain at home with the help of matrons and GPs

  • NVQ Level III, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Basic mathematical skills

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous clinical and therapy experience of working with therapy rehabilitation of patients/virtual ward and/or case management
  • Awareness of personal care needs

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Ability to communicate when barriers to understanding exist.
  • Ability to communicate within a multi discipline team

Personal qualities

  • Ability to treat people with dignity and respect.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality
