Job summary
We
currently have vacancies in our existing night care packages, full training and
support will be given.
As a Home Support Worker you will
be delivering care to children or young people within the home environment.
This involves being trained to competently deliver specialist care procedures,
e.g. tracheostomy care, home ventilation, enteral feeding dependant on
individual needs.
We have various night hours
available, to work flexibly over 7 days per week.

This is a fixed term post due to time limited nature of the Funding which will end in 18 months.We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.

Main duties of the job
Work as part of
a multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and care of children with
complex nursing needs.
To communicate at an appropriate level for
individual children, young people and their carers
Undertake nursing duties, as agreed with the
Orchard Service who are responsible for the child/ young person. This may
include ventilation, tracheostomy, enteral feeding etc.
To understand
individual plans of care to ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of
a change in condition or problem occurring.
Assist with the
personal care and comfort of the child and to maintain the childs dignity and
privacy at all times, including manual handling when necessary.
Assist in
maintaining a safe environment for the child, family/carers and staff,
including safe use of equipment, reporting any malfunctions urgently.
