Job summary

Working as part of Better Lives team which is the Community Substance Misuse multi-disciplinary team in Islington. For service users with complex substance misuse needs, the post holder will, using a range of generic and or specific tools be responsible for providing individual service user assessment and identifying, delivering, and evaluating care interventions. This will include providing direct care to service users.

They may also take on a care co-ordination role for a specific group of service users.

Qualification

Essential

  • NVQ L3 or Equivalent Experience

Desirable

  • Level 2 Safeguarding
  • Knowledge and experience of working with individuals with a history of substance misuse
  • Experience of working in a recovery oreiented role or setting

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
  • Demonstrate an ability to liaise with other agencies and carers involved.
  • Competent using computers and keyboards for entering personally generated data, generating and responding to emails, conducting web searches, storing data and retrieving data, producing reports etc

  • Evidence of interest in and ability to contribute to service development

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the needs and difficulties of substance misuse clients.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and experience of the assessment of risk and the evaluation of care interventions
