Job summary

NHS Talking Therapies High Intensity Therapist (CFD) - Band 7

Full-time 37.5 hours (HYBRID only role)Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust works alongside Coventry and Warwickshire MIND to deliver the Talking Therapies Service across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.An exciting opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated Person Centred- Experiential Counsellor for Depression (Accredited) Therapist is now available within the Talking Therapies Counselling Team. The team provides a Primary Care Talking Therapies Service for clients experiencing symptoms of Depression.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a practitioner who is skilled in providing effective, evidence-based therapy to individuals experiencing symptoms of depression. We would particularly welcome interest from therapists who can demonstrate previous experience of working within diverse populations in a primary care setting.

Accreditation with BACP or other recognised counselling body is required however we would support the successful candidate in obtaining this but it should be noted that the post would be paid at band 6 until completion.Enthusiasm, confidence and the ability to work flexibly and without close direction are essential. In return, you will have the opportunity of being in the forefront of primary care mental health service delivery. In addition to the satisfaction of working in a progressive, dynamic service there will be excellent development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Diploma in Person Centred Counselling
  • Successfully completed the Counselling for Depression (CfD) course
  • BACP/UKCP accredited

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential

  • Full range of skills as laid out in the competency framework for Humanistic Psychological Therapies (Roth AD, Hill A, Pilling S 2009)
  • Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Significant post qualification counselling practice supervised to BACP/UKCP requirements
  • Experience of working in a medical setting, IAPT, primary care, mental health services, social services or equivalent setting
  • Highly experienced in working therapeutically with a diverse and complex patient population, including patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, using interpreters if needed. Sensitive to and respectful of patients' differing cultural, religious and social issues.
  • Experience in therapeutic group work
