Job summary
Band 6 Senior Procurement Officer
The Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated procurement professional to provide operational and tactical procurement support to the Contracting and Procurement Team.
Main duties of the job
The primary role of the Senior Procurement officer is to support all service areas within the Trust, providing procurement advice, guidance and support on a range of requirements for goods, works and services in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instruction, and current procurement law.

Job responsibilities
To provide support to the Procurement Manager and lead on a range of procurement activities for goods works and services including mini-competitions, tenders and quotations in accordance with UK procurement law. To provide support to the Procurement Team Leader in delivering operational aspects of the procurement function relating to the Procurement Team.
To effectively support the Contracting and Procurement dept by supporting the activity of the Procurement Manager to identify procurement requirements and allocating work to the Procurement Team leader and by partnership working with service areas to establish user requirements.
To manage the development and operation of procurement activity, thereby maximising the impact of resources and value for money in delivering services within the Trust.
To develop effective relationships, and work in partnership with other contracting authorities on joint procurement activities or as part of specific support arrangements.
