Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 occupational therapist to join our Mental Health Team at Rookery Gardens

The successful applicant will work closely with the band 6 OT, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, nursing team and Birmingham Mind, who work in partnership with BSMHFT.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience rehabilitation, and a unique working environment within Steps To Recovery. Rookery Gardens is staffed as a joint venture between BSMHFT and MIND, creating the a chance for the right applicant to experience this partnership and learn how it works. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced band 5 looking to enhance their CV and develop additional skills in community focussed rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

The Occupational Therapist will be required to undertake comprehensive OT assessments using a number of standardised tools and models, including MOHO (model of human Occupation). The OT will apply formulation skills in setting appropriate recovery focussed interventions and work alongside the service user in achieving these goals by application of appropriate interventions.
