Within this role, you will play a leading role in shaping and delivering plans to strengthen inclusivity across our organisation; spanning equality standards, delivering engaging training, and programmes to systematically embed inclusion in all that we do at the Trust. Working with the EDI Steering and Operational Groups, you will take forward the Trust's EDI plan and support stakeholders to embed changes within their areas to promote inclusion. You will work closely with our 9 Staff Network Groups, ensuring our EDI work is led by their feedback, evidence based and in keeping with best practice.

The role incumbent must have experience of equality, diversity and inclusion, and must be able to draw on specialist knowledge of the challenges, opportunities and best practices in developing and implementing EDI strategies.

The role will sit within our Leadership & Organisational Development Team and involves working closely with our HR and Recruitment Teams, staff network chairs, EDI stakeholder groups and Education Teams.

Main duties of the job

  • Supported by the line manager, be the lead point of contact for the Trust's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) activities
  • Deliver engaging EDI training across the trust, tailoring the messaging to the audiences needs and making a solid case for change.
  • This post supports all relevant staff networks and is the administrator for the EDI steering and operational groups, supporting its agenda setting, development and providing regular written and verbal reports.
  • Remain abreast of all relevant legislation and guidance. This includes the NHS / EDI agenda and NHS specific related guidance.
  • Support in the development of plans for how the Trust meets its legal duties and responds to equality, diversity, and inclusion legislation as well as delivering updates on evolving best practice and guidance. Keeping up to date with new national and local changes is essential.
