Job summary

An exciting development role has arisen within the integrated respiratory service to join the TB team with mapped carer progression within the service. The Buckinghamshire NHS Community TB service covers mid and south Bucks and offers a service to patients in Tring and Chinnor.

The service runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM -5 PM, working closely with the UKHSA, TBCB, and NHS England as TB is a notifiable disease.

We undertake a Cohort review six monthly with the UKHSA, to review cases, and reflect and learn from the outcomes. It is a multidisciplinary meeting reviewing complex TB cases.

The service provides TB Case Management for all patients commenced on TB medication. The service can provide DOT/VOT to patients in their own homes or an alternative safe environment. Home visiting is carried out depending on the needs of the patient. We respond to the patients and maintain a strong emphasis on treatment completion. We aim to provide rapid diagnosis and have strong links with microbiology and radiology.

TB Nurse-led clinics run twice weekly at Wycombe Hospital and a monthly telephone clinic. The TB Nurse Specialist and TB Nurse also attend TB Consultant clinics which run at both sites.
