Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Division of Musculoskeletal and Specialist Surgery (MSKSS) to recruitment highly motivated and dynamic Junior sisters/Charge nurses part time contract 30 hours per week..
Needham Ward is a busy 28 bedded Fragility Fracture Unit. The unit provides excellent nursing care primarily to patients following fractured neck of femur in a recently refurbished dementia friendly environment. You will be working alongside our dedicated orthogeriatrician and fragility nurses specialist.
We are looking for compassionate, caring and friendly individuals to work as part of our multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care for our orthopaedic patients.
You must be committed to providing the highest quality nursing care, alongside provide strong leadership and mentorship to junior staff. You will be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model.
As a junior sister/charge nurse you will need excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, support and motivate others.

Main duties of the job
To work within the framework for Clinical Governance to provide effective, high quality individualised nursing care to patients and relatives/carers and to contribute to the continuing development of nursing practice.
To be responsible for providing leadership and teaching within the ward environment, enabling unit staff to deliver high quality, individualised care.
To provide support and supervision of nursing staff, effectively co-ordinating and deploying resources within the unit.
To work within the Trust's Competency Framework for Registered Nurses, the Ward/ Department Philosophy and the NMC Code of Conduct/ Professional Standards for the Protection of Patients.
