Job summary

The Children's Occupational Therapy Team in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work in their well established and supportive team.

We are looking for applicants to preferably have experience of working with CYP in a multi-disciplinary team, as you will be working as an integral part of a small experienced supportive team of OTs, PTs, and unregistered staff, and other members of the wider MDT. You will support clinical intervention for children with neuro developmental and motor skills difficulties. You will have the opportunity to work with children aged 0 - 19 years in a variety of settings, including nurseries, schools and in our Children's Centre on site, and have an opportunity to develop our services in specialist schools. We are looking for an excellent communicator who can prioritise a complex and varied case load, who can work autonomously as well as part of a team. Training and personal development is well supported.

Main duties of the job

Caseload management of a community caseload within the west Norfolk locality.

Assessment and intervention of children and young people aged between 0-19, using standardised assessments and evidence-based treatment techniques.

Working in a variety of community settings, including mainstream schools, early years settings and nurseries and clinics.

Contribution to Education Health and Care plans for children on your caseload, and awareness of the SEND agenda overall.

Contribution to peer supervision.

Working alongside other health professionals including physiotherapists, therapy assistants, GPs, Consultant Paediatricians.

Providing supervision to students, therapy assistants and other qualified members of the OT Team.

Ordering and management of equipment needs for the children on caseload using the recognised system.
