Administrative Team Leader - Single Point of Access

Job summary

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Administrative Team Leader seeking a new challenge. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Single Point of Access (SPA) Team within Community Services.

The SPA service is a vital hub that manages all incoming referrals from GPs, patients, hospitals, community IPUs, and other healthcare professionals. As the Administrative Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of this service, supporting a team of seven call handlers who manage referrals via telephone and electronic systems, as well as providing essential administrative support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a small, dedicated team in a fast-paced office environment that is central to the delivery of community healthcare services.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, proactive, and able to work to a high standard.
  • A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Flexible in approach and confident in leading a team.
  • Experienced in staff management within health or social care settings (desirable).
  • Familiar with call handling or telephony services (desirable, but full training will be provided).

Interviews will take place on the 5th January 2026.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coordination, and management of the SPA team, including rota planning and staff deployment to ensure consistent service coverage.
  • Oversee the efficient running of the SPA service, ensuring all service user contact is handled professionally and courteously.
  • Resolve both written and verbal enquiries, ensuring internal processes are followed and service standards are maintained.
  • Analyse situations and make informed decisions to support effective service delivery.
  • Review and improve working practices, propose changes to enhance efficiency, and support the implementation of new processes in collaboration with wider Community teams.

  • Word Processing and Computer literacy skills to RSA3/NVQ3 Level
