The Eating Disorder Team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a Family Therapist to join our rapidly expanding team!

Band 8a - Full time (part time/flexible working will be considered)

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a Family Therapist with an interest and experience in working with young people with an Eating Disorder and/or ARFIDS. The successful applicant will be a senior member of the team, and will provide a substantial contribution to the clinical work, holding case management responsibility for their case load. The post holder will undertake appropriate mental health assessment and intervention to children and young people referred to the Eating Disorder Service, as well as providing advice, support and consultation to families, carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person. In addition, the successful candidate will undertake physical health monitoring under the supervision and guidance of Consultant Paediatricians (training provided)

About us

About the team: The Eating Disorder Team (EDYs) provide support and treatment for children and young people in Liverpool and Sefton with an eating disorder and/or ARFIDS, as well as their parents/carers and professionals involved in their care.

This is a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant Paediatricians, Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, CBT and SFP trained staff, Nursing, Support Worker, Assistant Practitioner and Assistant Psychology. The team is based on site at Alder Hey, but offer appointments throughout the community footprint.

  • oPost-graduate qualification in relevant mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice over a minimum of three years.
